Impact

What we have achieved so far in our mission to eradicate poverty

Designed for Impact

Our programs are aimed at reducing the economic and social barriers faced by youth and poor communities, largely in rural areas. Through training, skilling, empowerment, and other interventions, we enable access to opportunities and growth for those with the highest vulnerabilities.

More than 80% of our interventions are conducted in rural locations. A fourth of these are in aspirational districts, where they contribute to progress on key socio-economic indicators. Two thirds of the youth in our Make India Capable classrooms are women. Almost all of them face barriers when it comes to accessing education, skilling or economic opportunities.

Impact measurement

Our impact measurement framework includes personal, social and economic indicators to help us to gauge how effective our interventions are in tackling multi-dimensional poverty.

In 2019, we did an impact study involving youth who were enrolled in the program at some point over the last decade. We conducted in-depth interviews to find out about their lives, choices and experiences in the years following the program.
