We believe that the world needs the ideas of youth and their passion to make a difference in solving some pf the most pressing problems of our times. We aim to foster social entrepreneurship in young people through training, workshops, opportunities for collaboration, idea incubation and more.
In India, Youth Co:Lab is a joint initiative of UNDP India and Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog. The overarching themes of the 2020 annual event were Covid recovery and #BuildingBackBetter. The goal was to surface youth-led innovation in five key areas, including education and skilling, access, sustainability, mental health and gender equality. As UNDP’s primary partner for the event, we organized and facilitated the workshops, expert sessions, panel discussions and other interactions involved in the event.
Starting in December 2020, we conducted a joint initiative with Telangana Academy of Skill and Knowledge (TASK) to catalyse social innovation in that state. This included entrepreneurship training, an Ideathon workshop (to help those selected zero in on solutions in one of five thematic areas), and incubation to help nurture some of these solutions.
