A multi-faceted career-oriented woman cum home maker, Mala Rehan has spent several years teaching Science, Maths and English at JN Petit, Welham Girls High School (Dehra Doon), St Peters School, RK Academy and G D Somani School (Mumbai).
A qualified teacher and journalist, Mala has been writing for various magazines and newspapers. She moved into the field of Computers and Marketing with NIIT, then a fledgling company in computer education. She then shifted into the training division, to serve as a senior corporate trainer.
Mala has conducted software and programming training for companies like Indian Railways Institute for Civil Engineers, (IRICEN) , Goa Shipyard Ltd, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) and Kirloskar Brothers Ltd. Has also had experience in managing computer education centers in smaller organizations like Boston Computer Co.
Mala has had training and experience in the career guidance of young adults.
Her career breaks, inevitable in the life of a female home maker, have given her many opportunities to indulge in social service. A member of the Poona Women’s Council since 1978, she has been actively involved in several projects, including setting up of their school science lab, setting up and running mobile crèches, editing and bringing out their newsletter for many years, and have served on the Managing Committee for six years.
